Baby Massage

Massaging your baby is a enjoyable for parents and babies and is a wonderful way to spend time together.  Not only does massage give both the carer and baby an opportunity to relax and enjoy the comfort of touch, there are a number of well documented benefits of massage for babies.  We know that infant massage:
  • promotes bonding as it engages all the senses
  • provides relief from tummy pain and other discomforts
  • strengthens the immune system
  • promotes relaxation - many parents report their baby sleeps better following regular infant massage
  • increases circulation, aids the digestive and respiratory systems and relieves muscle tension
This can help babies adjust to different stages and also assist parents in understanding and responding to their baby’s cues.

                    We welcome babies who are:
                            -    healthy and thriving
                            -    quiet and laid-back
                            -    wriggly, squirmy, crying or very active
                            -    unsettled were born prematurely or had a rough start in life

Baby Massage Classes
Rachel teaches The
First Touch Course™, with each class lasting around
1–1½ hours.
It is the only parent infant massage and touch education program in Australia that has been subjected to any research and has been shown to support babies sleep, settling and soothing abilities; physical and motor development; development of confidence and self-esteem; empathy and other social skills.
In addition to learning the massage strokes, participants learn about the benefits of massage for babies, how to read their baby's cues and respond appropriately, suitable oils for use in massage, rhymes and songs for older babies  and basic relaxation.

Groups
are limited to 6 families so that there is plenty of time to ask questions, learn a wide range of practical skills and still meet the needs of your baby. Sessions are structured so that your baby can have a feed, cuddle, sleep, nappy change or a cry if needed.     Classes are held at Myolife, or in the comfort of your own home.  Private one-on-one sessions are also available.  Please talk to Rachel to discuss your needs.

Bookings can be made by calling Rachel on 0407 949 039.
